UPDATE: Thanks to one of readers, MeredithW, we know that according to Kenny’s website, the rum has NOT yet been named. Thanks Meredith!
UPDATE: We don’t know about this one guys – as we said below, WSMV is reporting that the name of the rum will be “Vacation In A Bottle,” but we have yet to see any official announcement on that. So we’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear something official. We wanted to bring you the news since it’s being reported, but that’s the only place we’ve been able to find it. We’re not the only ones who have heard the rumor, but like we said, nothing official yet.
You already know that Kenny Chesney has his own brand of rum in the works, and now we know what the name of that rum will be! WSMV is reporting that the new rum, expected in early 2010, will be called “Vacation In A Bottle.” It’s a pretty fitting title considering that Kenny’s shows are a one-day vacation for over a million fans every summer! We can’t wait to try the new rum – what about you, will you try it?

I’m finishing college in 2010 and I will be ready for a mini vacation. I will definitely try the rum. If it’s anything similar to Cruzan I know I’ll love it.

Cruzan’s been making rum for almost 300 years, and they do a pretty good job. Can’t see myself switching just because KC did. And the name sounds like some sort of cologne you’d find on clearance at Big Lots!

The name is awful…. not much thought went into naming the rum. They should have asked “us” his fans what to name this new product. Love Kenny, so I’ll try it, but the name leaves a lot to be desired.

One question – where’s the press release? If he had actually named it I’m sure a press release would have been issued.
Back in September when the deal was first made public, Kenny made the comment —– Kenny continued, according to E! Online, “We’re looking to create a fun-in-the-sun, vacation-in-a-bottle type experience that people everywhere can enjoy when they kick back and relax.” — So “vacation-in-a-bottle” is the type of experience he wants to create. It doesn’t say he was giving it that name.
Maybe he did name it that, but I’d wait until I saw an official press release before I get all riled up over a name.

yep, saw that. But that’s just a news story, not an “official” press release. Maybe an official press release will show up on Kenny’s website soon so we’ll know for sure.

i’m a big Kenny fan, but sorry… I hope he didn’t name his rum that. Frankly, that’s a terrible name for a brand of rum. (Every time I hear it I think they’re referencing a, shall we say, “recreational” substance that might not be as “legal” as alcohol…
tacky.

Now Nancy, if there were a press release, how long do you think it would take to decipher Holly’s gobbledy-gook to figure out what the name was. LOL. Channel 4 is usually pretty smart. Then again, I haven’t actually seen this on Channel 4 yet…
