Beautiful is a great way to describe this song. Randy’s proud face through the song says it all. He was proud to have Carrie singing his song. Randy still sounds great as well! They were incredible together!!! :D

I guess they were going for something old school style-wise but it didn’t work IMO. But the performance was BEAUTIFUL. Great job by Carrie and Randy there and IMO it’s awesome that they did a more country song on a pop show watched by over 20 million people.

I’m just not sure what was going on her hair. Did she get it cut or is it just pulled up in a funky way? And that bow did nothing for the look. Otherwise it was a very good performance, you could tell they were both in awe of each other.

This is by far my favorite CU song. I’m not a fan of hers but I am so glad she recorded this type of song — it showcases her vocals beautifully. Much better than the screams of Cheats or Last Name. And I love Randy Travis and his “old schoolness”. CU’s headpiece, well that’s another matter.

I thought they both did a great job. As for Carrie’s hair, that is actually her length, normally she wears extensions. I only know this because last year at the CMA fest, when she performed the night before, her hair was long and the next day it was shoulder length. Lol. Not sure what that thing was on her head though….

I love this song, and have heard a radio duet version that is MUCH better.

Carrie has a beautiful voice, but at one point she jumps in on Randy’s part that would’ve been better if he just sang that verse on his own. It definitely shows she is a solo performer, because harmonies in duets are supposed to come together – not one person outsinging the other (and Carrie definitely outsings Randy in this performance). Beautiful song though =)

IMO, Randy Travis is a true American Icon! He has such a great stage presence, singing style, and everything! I have loved him since I was 6 years old watching “Annabelles Wish” and I love him even more now! Especially since I had the honor of getting to meet him last year and he talked to me for like 5 min. or more. ” I Told You So” is an AMAZING Country song. I think Carrie delivers a good version of it, but I will Always love the Original the best! I have to agree with everyone else about her hairpiece. When her & Randy came out, I said to my mom, what has she got on her hair? it looks like a spider or something.

Overall I thought it was a good performance, I just wish Randy could have sung HIS song more!
