Joe Nichols- Broadway Bound

Joe Nichols has confirmed that he will play the lead role in the Broadway version of Pure Country. George Strait starred in the original 1992 movie, which has become a country music fan favorite. Nichols says he’s relocating to the “Big Apple” in October of this year and that the show would debut sometime next year. Nichols has committed to the musical for 10 months.
How does Nichols feel about playing such a legandary role and about trying to fill King George’s shoes? “It feels pretty amazing. He’s been a hero of mine since I was a little kid so to come along behind him … on Broadway and do something that people dream their whole lives of doing is pretty amazing.”
