It was a star-studded evening last night at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. Country artists such as Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Joe Nichols, and Jamey Johnson gathered to honor some of country music’s most legendary artists including Hank Williams Jr., Randy Travis, Dolly Parton, and Merle Haggard.
Lee Ann Womack hosted and performed at the event while Underwood, Nichols, Shelton, and Lambert (among others) came to to pay tribute to those being honored.
“I feel like I need to be older, or dead,” Travis joked about receiving the Cliffe Stone Pioneer award. “Great thanks to so many wonderful songwriters in this town. The hits don’t happen without them.”
