I just have to say that first off, I love Taylor and I wish her all the best, but I am very dissappointed about her winning EOTY. I really feel that it is just too soon. I would have preferred any of the other nominees.

How can Taylor Swift win Entertainer of the Year when she has opened up 4 all the other artists that were nominated like she said in her speech. It might b because she gets 2 count the tickets they sell when she is their opening act as her own ticket sales. She really needs to thank George, Brad, Kenny, & Keith 4 winning the award tonight 4 her by selling out all THEIR shows so their OPENING act can count THEIR ticket sales & win the biggest award in country music. She does not deserve it yet. Maybe a few years from now but not tonight!!!

As a fan of both Kenny and Taylor, they were my top pics. I can now say I got e-mail from the Entertainer of the Year!!! She thanked me for making the T-shirt I wore to her show for my b-day last month.

I do not think that Taylor should have won EOTY.. She just started her first headlining tour this year.. She basically has nothing to strive for either with all the categories she has won.. I think if she was to win it, it should have been a few years down the road. One of the guys should have won. They have been around for years and know what country music is..
Taylor also is not the most impressive live performer vocal wise..

I agree with alot of the post here. Taylor should not have won last night. I’m a KC fan, but if any of the others won I would have been fine, not Taylor. She hasn’t done anything yet to prove she deserves it. It’s toooo early. She still has alot of learn, her vocals need major work. It’s the teeny boppers out there going to her concerts, buying her albums/downloads. I have to give her credit on so far being a good role model, hope she can keep that. Vocialist should have went to others also…her range is just not there, hence the first song last night…what was that??? I think Zac Brown Band should have won more too…love Lady A and Darius…but ZBB deserved more.

In my opinion, the award lost it’s prestige last night. It was shocking she was in that category in the first place with Brad, Keith, Kenny and George- all of whom have been in the business a long long time. And the female vocalist? She was the worst sounding out of all the performances. I have seen every single woman that was nominated in that category and Taylor is the weakest singer out of them all. I like Taylor’s CD, I own Fearless and I think its amazing everything she has accomplished in her young age. But I think it was way too soon for her to even be nominated for EOTY, let alone win it.

Please tell me how Taylor hasn’t earned ETOY. It is not Entertainer of the decade, or century (in George’s case), it is of the YEAR. She had a HUGE headlining tour THIS YEAR. She deserves it this year. It has nothing to do earning your dues. She did what she was supposed to do to earn it, just like the other four did to be nominated.
Just because you do not like her doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve it! Saying she has to pay her dues would be like saying someone for the Best New Artist award needs to be around for like 10 years before paying their dues and earning the award.

First off let me say that i don’t hate Taylor, heck i even like her, i own all her cds and i’ve seen her in concert. In regards to her wining Female Vocalist, i think it was the wrong winner. That award should go to the person who is Vocally better and Taylor isn’t at the level of the rest of the females nominated.
When it comes to EOTY, i look at that award based on the full package. If you put Taylor and Kenny side by side, you’ll see that Kenny had the bigger tour. He’s selling out NFL Stadiums at the exact same rate Taylor is selling out Arenas. Last time i checked NFL Stadiums have more seats than Arenas. Im not trying to say that Taylor didn’t have a successful tour, because she did, and im not trying to market kenny but both tours were in the same time frame, and Kenny’s tour brought in more money.
Anywho, to each its own. Everyone has the right to their own opinion and everyone should respect each others opinions. Taylor is a great girl, she’s pretty, she’s a great role model for kids, she’s a good songwriter, and she knows how to permote and market herself. But in a music awards show, the awards should be given out based on numbers and stats and musical talent, and imo Taylor swift still has some work to do in the musical talent department.

Though I am a huge Kenny fan and I was disappointed that he didn’t win the award. I knew it would be a toss up between him and Taylor. She is EVERYWHERE. She’s on tv shows, talk shows, her album has been in the top of the charts of for how long? Hasn’t she sold more albums than anyone. I sort of expected it to go to her. On top of the fact that a few of the pre award show talks about who would win, they talked about the Kanye thing pushing her even closer to winning the award.
I can see where people would say she hasn’t been around very long and she’s only had one headlining show, though. I was thinking about something Brad Paisley said when he was first nominated, he said that he didn’t want to win it yet because where do you go from there. It’s like she’s won the top award, now what. I do think it is a little sucky that those guys had struggled for years and had to fight to get to where they are today and all of the sudden someone comes in and after being in it for a couple of years and takes the top award. I could see some people not agreeing with that, even though it was a great year for year, it was her first year. I’m just saying I could see that point too, right or wrong. I do wonder what the criteria is for this award. Didn’t Kenny and Keith win awards for top honors for their tours this year and had #1 songs and where somewhere in the tops with album sales?
I do have to say, I’m not as bothered about her winning it as I was when Carrie did. Not that I’m going to say Carrie didn’t deserve it or go into a defending match about her, but to me because, with Taylor, it wasn’t like a popularity contest and she was voted on it by her peers, I feel better about it. If they have worked with these artists and work in the same field and know what it’s like to be there and they felt she deserved it, then good for her.

i don’t think taylor should have gotten vocalist AT ALL! I’ve seen her 7 times since she’s been on tour with brad in 07 and since then i haven’t heard a song live that she sings GREAT all the way through. I love her, but her voice stinks sometimes. and also, i agree that she should not have gotten entertainer. She had one tour that she’s headlined, and yeah it did great, but who knows maybe her tour next year will be even better. the voters should wait to see her improvement over the years to vote her in for EOTY. It was really upsetting to me that she got it. I wanted brad to win SO bad. throughout the show i was holding his hat and picks that he gave me this summer for good luck. as taylor won entertainer of the year I tried thinking about what kind of memories i’ve left her concerts with and I couldnt think of anything significant. When you leave a show by brad keith and kenny you never walk away empty handed- whether you have a pick, a hat (!), are just memories you always have great things to remember. I wish I could say I had taken things away from all 7 of the taylor shows i’ve seen but i have to say i haven’t. And as I think back to when she was just starting out and was on tour with brad, I begin to realize how much more i liked her then.
I will say that she is one of the artists I look up to and am inspired by, but I look up to the old taylor. not the new one.
congratulations brad on your wins! you deserved them!
