When Carrie Underwood walked the red carpet at this week’s People’s Choice Awards, the focus wasn’t exactly on her music! Of course everyone wanted to hear details of her recent engagement and upcoming wedding to her hockey-player fiance Mike Fisher, and Carrie seemed happy to share…
On her engagement ring - “The ring is made by Johnathon Arndt. I worked with him a zillion times I love him to death and Mike knew that from all of the little boxes in my room, so he somehow managed to fool all of us and sneak around to get it!”
On wedding planning - “I started tearing out pictures and stuff. I got a folder and put pictures in and stuff. It’s like in a binder thingy and I really don’t know yet.”
On her wedding dress - “I want it pretty traditional… And it’s weird, but I think I want to add flowers on it. I don’t know yet. I see things in my head. I’m cutting out pictures.”
On her wedding - “I think I want a small wedding, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Mike has a huge family that he’s really close with. I have a big family, but we’re not that tight knit. So, I have my little group, but he has about three times as much so we want a small one, but he’s going to make it big.”
On her wedding day look - “I’m Southern. I like big hair and eyeliner. I want my wedding day to be me, so I’ll probably be rocking some big hair and some eyeliner.”
On keeping in touch with Mike while their careers keep them apart - “We’re big texters. We talk on the phone. I-Chatting, I don’t know what we’d do without it to be honest – and face time is the most important.”
On her fiance - “he looks good in pictures – but he looks better in person.”
We have to say, as private as Carrie has been about her relationship with Mike in the past, it’s a lot of fun that she’s sharing so many details about the big day! Best wishes to the happy couple!
