Darius Rucker Plans to Have New Album Out This Summer

It’s been nearly four years since Darius Rucker burst on to the country music scene with his first solo album release. That album, Learn To Live, gave Darius immediate success in the genre with hits like “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” “It Won’t Be Like This For Long,” “Alright,” and “History In The Making.” More hits followed with his second country album, Charleston, SC, including “Come Back Song,” “This,” and his latest single, “I Got Nothin’.” Now Darius is ready to bring country fans his third solo album, which he plans to get started on next week and have out to listeners by this summer.

“I’ve got two or three more writing sessions, but we’ve written pretty much the whole record,” Rucker tells USA TODAY. “We’re going to rehearse Monday and Tuesday, then go in Wednesday and Thursday and cut some things.”

Prior to heading into the studio in the days ahead, Darius is headed to Indianapolis, IN where he’ll perform as part of the festivities leading up to Super Bowl XLVI. He won’t be sticking around for the big game though, as he instead plans to watch it with a pretty special “fan.”

“I’ve been to, like, 13 of the last 14 Super Bowls,” he says. “This year, I’m going to watch it at home with my boy.”

After the Super Bowl, Darius will have to split his time in the studio with his time on the tour bus as he has a busy schedule of tour dates in the coming months. For a full list of dates and to see if Darius is coming to your city, click HERE.
