Dierks Bentley announced this week that he will embark on the “Up On The Ridge” Tour later this spring. The 24 city tour will give fans a preview of Bentley’s new bluegrass project.

There aren’t any better acoustic musicians in the world than the Travelin’ McCourys, period. And I’ve been a big fan of Hayes for a long time. Dierks Bentley Readies Bluegrass Album, Due This Summer

March 9th, 2010

Dierks Bentley has titled his forthcoming bluegrass album Up On The Ridge.  The project will feature appearances by Miranda Lambert, Alison Krauss, and the Del McCoury Band among others.

“I didn’t want this to be ‘Dierks Bentley and friends’ or a ‘Dierks does bluegrass’ kind of album… I wanted each song to have something special about it, and I think each song does have its own thing going on,” said Bentley.

Up On The Ridge is due out this summer.

Dierks Bentley To Honor Brooks & Dunn

February 22nd, 2010

Dierks Bentley will honor Brooks & Dunn tomorrow when the duo is presented with the Country Radio Broadcasters’ Career Achievement Award during the 2010 Country Music DJ and Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Bentley will perform an acoustic set to honor Brooks & Dunn, who announced that they will be retiring last year.

“Kix and Ronnie are the original modern day honkytonkers. A lot of acts playing down on Lower Broadway try to emulate those guys,” said Bentley. “When we toured together, I watched their show every night from side-stage in total awe of the number of hits they’ve had and what they’ve built over the last few decades. They’ve done it all. I still can’t believe they’re about to retire. In true B&D fashion, I have no doubt they’ll go out in a BIG way and leave us wanting more. I’m honored the CRB asked me to help recognize them and their huge contribution to our format.”

Brooks & Dunn will embark on “The Final Rodeo Tour” later this year.

“American Saturday Night” Tour – Fan Review

February 15th, 2010

We’ve been hearing from many fans who’ve attended Brad Paisley’s “American Saturday Night” tour and they’re all telling us the same thing – that the show is fabulous!  Cortney attended the tour stop in Birmingham, AL and sent in a review and some great pictures from the show…

WOW… February 5, 2010-Birmingham, AL….MY FIRST BRAD PAISLEY SHOW!! I had won 4th row tickets, and was soo excited!! I wasn’t really going in with high expectations, although still excited. I am a Brad fan, but he wasn’t really too near the top of my list. Boy was I in for a surprise!

One of my high school classmates works for Brad as one of his onstage camera men. I had been in contact with him via facebook before the show, and I was lucky enough to be sitting close enough for him to watch for us. He said he’d come out and say hello if we were there early enough. My friend Jami and I had just sat back down from getting something to drink, and I see Cole come out from backstage…..he waved and headed out way.  Once he got to us he asked if we’d like a backstage tour before the show started….ummm DUH!!! LOL The show was due to start in about 15 minutes, so we didn’t have a lot of time..and didn’t get to meet anyone other then people that work for Brad. However, to be able to see all the backstage stuff, Video World, be ON the stage seeing all the stuff for Brad’s set….it was all SO COOL!!! Brad’s bus was back there, and I’m sure he was probably on it…dummy me didn’t take ANY pictures until right before we were headed back to our seats. I hadn’t seen Cole since graduation, 9 years ago…and it was so super nice of him to take us backstage!

Justin Moore was the first act to take the stage. I don’t really know much of his music, other then the singles that have been released to radio, but I really enjoyed him.  He puts on a great show, heworked all areas of the stage, and seemed like a pretty cool guy!

Miranda Lambert was due up next and she is always a firecracker!! It was my 2nd time seeing her, and once again she was awesome!! I love her energy!! She told the crowd that she was a Texas girl, and said we’d just have to get over it…HOOK EM HORNS!! (Alabama beat Texas in the national championship for college football) She did eventually give out a ROLL TIDE and said she’d like to have a drink with everyone in Alabama! I LOVED hearing her do “White Liar” live. She has so much fun on stage and you can tell she’s a down to earth gal.

Brad….WOW!!!!!!!!! From the time he stepped foot on the stage until the lights came up and it was time to leave…..I was LOVING IT!!!!!!! Seriously one of the BEST concerts I’ve EVER been to!! His energy, his crowd interaction, the visual effects/animations….everything was GREAT!  I was glad that he sang all his biggest hits, and that he joked with the crowd a lot. At one point he said ”I love Alabama, I love your music, I love your people, I love your FOOTBALL! Naturally the crowd went wild with that! Dierks Bentley makes a cameo on the screen (along with a few other celebs) but Dierks actually SINGS (via the big screen!) It was really neat to see Brad just turn around and watch him. :)

I also thought it was really cool that they filmed local kids for the part during Welcome To The Future!! My friend Jami and I were on the “big screen” a few times, thanks to Cole….I wish I had gotten a picture of that…but I was snapping my camera so much there was no way to watch for everything. I could probably say so much more, but overall it was a GREAT night and I am now a bigger Brad Paisley fan then I was before, and would LOVE to see him again!

Thanks Cortney for the great review and pictures!  Has anyone else seen a 2010 stop of the “American Saturday Night” tour? What are your thoughts on the show?
