Gloriana Reacts To ACM Win

Here’s what Gloriana had to say about their recent ACM win…

“We have the best fans anyone can ask for and we are so grateful to them for helping us win our first ACM Award for Top New Vocal Group,” said Cheyenne Kimball. “We are so honored to be a nominee for the Top New Artist Award and cannot wait to attend the ACM Awards,” added Tom Gossin.

They will now compete against Luke Bryan and Joey+Rory for the title of ACM Top New Artist beginning April 1st.

The Academy of Country Music and GAC announced the New Artist Award winners this morning!

The winners are….

Top New Solo Vocalist: Luke Bryan

Top New Vocal Group: Gloriana

Top New Vocal Duo: Joey + Rory

Each artist will now compete for the title of ACM Top New Artist. They will each perform and receive their trophy on the Trace Adkins-hosted GAC special “ACM Top New Artists,” premiering Thursday, April 1 at 10:00 PM ET. For the first time ever, the special will be taped during the regularly-scheduled Tuesday Night Opry at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN on the Grand Ole Opry stage.

Voting for Top New Artist will take place at www.VoteACM.com beginning Thursday, April 1st and will end at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 18th.

The winner of the new Top New Artist category will be awarded on the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 18 at 8:00 PM live ET on CBS.

ACM New Artist Fan Voting Is Live

Fans can now log on to voteacm.com to cast their vote for the ACM New Artist categories. Voting went live this morning at 9am and will close on Friday, March 12.

The winner in each category will be announced in mid-March and will move on to compete for Top New Artist. Voting for the Top New Artist category will begin at VoteACM.com on Thursday, April 1, and will close on April 18, with the winner being announced live during the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast on CBS.

Country Artists Appear On Team USA Soundtrack For Winter Olympics

Gloriana and Sugarland join Rascal Flatts as the country acts appearing on AT&T’s Team USA Soundtrack for the 2010 Winter Olympics.  Proceeds from the tracks purchase during the Olympics (today – Feb. 28) will benefit Team USA.

“To be able to team up with such amazing artists including Rascal Flatts and Sugarland on this soundtrack and support Team USA and the 2010 Winter Olympic Games is an opportunity we are so grateful for,” said Gloriana’s Mike Gossin. “We hope it helps Team USA to win Olympic Gold across the board!”

Gloriana has recorded a new song, “The World Is Ours Tonight,” and Rascal Flatts has recorded a new version of “Unstoppable” for the album.  You can watch Sugarland perform “Wide Open,” their contribution to the soundtrack, HERE.

Early ACM Nominations Announced

The Academy of Country Music revealed early nominations for three categories today.

For the second year in a row fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artists. Fan voting will begin at www.VoteACM.com on Friday, February 26th, and will close on Friday, March 12. The winner in each category will be announced in mid-March and will move on to compete for Top New Artist. Voting for the Top New Artist category will begin at VoteACM.com on Thursday, April 1, and will close on April 18, with the winner being announced live during the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast on CBS.
