Steel Magnolia To Release Debut Album September 21st

Steel Magnolia will release their self-titled debut album on September 21st.

The album includes Steel Magnolia’s smash hit, “Keep On Lovin’ You,” as well as their brand new single, “Just By Being You (Halos and Wings),” which is currently a Top 5 highest-streamed video on CMT.com and rises to #41 this week on the Billboard Top Country Songs Chart.

2010 has been a whirlwind year for Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones, the duo that comprise Steel Magnolia. So far the rising stars have broken a decades-long Billboard record and earned a million downloads of their Top 5 break-out hit, “Keep On Lovin’ You.”

Despite all of Steel Magnolia’s recent successes, getting to this point hasn’t been an easy road for the duo.

“There’s a Queen song called, ‘We are the Champions,’ “ says Jones. “There’s a line in the song that says.. “It’s been no bed of roses, no pleasure cruise, I consider it a challenge before the whole human race, and I ain’t gonna lose”. It’s true – it hasn’t been a bed of roses for me. I grew up dirt poor in Illinois. I don’t think you always have to know how you’re going to do something, you just have to have the determination to do it.”

“I knew at a very young age, exactly what I wanted to do,” echoes Meghan Linsey. “I started coming to Nashville when I was 14 and moved when I turned 18. I found my ‘niche’ working in karaoke bars in downtown Nashville. I didn’t have money or connections or much of anything, I had no idea how all of this was going to work out, I just always believed that it would.”

Steel Magnolia wrote 7 of the 12 tracks on their upcoming album debut, including the haunting ballad, “Glass Houses,” penned solely by Joshua Scott Jones. They also recording “Homespun Love,” which was penned by country music superstar Keith Urban.

Steel Magnolia official track listing:

1. Ooh La La

2. Keep On Lovin’ You

3. Just By Being You (Halos and Wings)

4. Edge Of Goodbye

5. Bulletproof

6. Not Tonight

7. Last Night Again

8. Without You

9. Rainbow

10. Eggs Over Easy

11. Homespun Love

12. Glass Houses

The Band Perry To Release Debut Album In October

The Band Perry will release its debut album on October 5.

The self-titled album will contain the trio‘s current single, “If I Die Young,“ #27/#32 on the Billboard/Mediabase singles charts. The lush, thought-provoking video for “If I Die Young,” directed by David McClister, (Lady Antebellum, LeAnn Rimes), was shot at Nashville’s historic Two Rivers Mansion.

This summer, the band is putting the finishing touches on their debut album while also working an ambitious touring schedule. Their concerts will take them from one end of the country to another, opening shows for such artists as Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson and Zac Brown Band.

Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman Celebrate Anniversary

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in Nashville last week where they dined at Flyte restaurant.  According to People magazine, the two got cozy in a corner booth of the popular eatery.

“[Nicole] looked stunning, very understated in a sleeveless dress and sandals,” one observer told People. “They were smiling and holding hands across the table. You could tell they were so in love.”

That wasn’t the only recent celebration for the couple… on June 20, they had a joint celebration for Nicole’s birthday and Father’s Day.  Another occassion for celebration is just around the corner as their daughter, Sunday Rose, turns 2 on July 7.
