Jake Owen Has Great Taste In Women!

Jake Owen, who made  People Country‘s list of hottest guys of country music in the latest issue, recently weighed in on which country females he thinks would top his list.

“Personally, I think Sara Evans is HOT! I’m not going to lie. Sara Evans is hot,” Owen tells AOL’s The Boot. “She’s very womanly. She’s a beautiful woman. And you know who else I think is a beautiful woman is Lee Ann Womack. I don’t know what it is about her, but [sigh], I like Lee Ann.”

Jake has some great taste, don’t you think?!

Reba’s “Keep On Loving You” Goes Gold

Reba McEntire‘s latest album, Keep On Loving You, has just been certified gold by the RIAA.  The sales of this album extends Reba’s lead as the highest sales certifications by a female artist in country music.

“It is always a thrill to get a Gold record. I have been blessed to get to record some great songs from great songwriters and then go into the studio and work with great producers and musicians,” says Reba of her latest accolade.   “My Valory team, led by Scott Borchetta, have played a huge role in the success of this CD. There’s a lot of hard work from a lot of people to make a Gold record possible. I’d like to thank everyone that has worked on this project and share this milestone with all of them.”

Reba is currently on tour with Lee Ann Womack and George Strait.  You can also catch the country music queen in this week’s issue of Country Weekly where she discusses her current tour, her life behind-the-scenes, and why she never plans to quit country music.

Photos: LeAnn Womack, Reba McEntire, & George Strait In Orlando

I attended the LeAnn Womack, Reba McEntire, Geoge Strait concert in Orlando, FL on February 26th. I know I’m a little late, but I thought I’d share a few photos from the show with you.

Lee Ann Womack has such a powerful voice! This was my third or fourth time seeing her live and each time she does a great job of showing off her strong vocal ability. I must admit, I wish she’d play a few more upbeat songs because I feel like her set is very slow paced, but it was still a good one and I think she’s the perfect fit to share the stage with McEntire and Strait on this tour.

Reba McEntire, the Queen of country music, was up next. I haven’t seen Reba live in quite a few years, so I was really looking forward to it….She did not disappoint. That woman is a true entertainer. She worked that stage like the seasoned performer that she is. She sang hit after hit and the crowd sang along to every word.

Melissa Peterman (Barbara Jean from the show Reba and also the host of CMT’s The Singing Bee) came out on stage with Reba for a quick comedic interlude. They are absolutely hilarious together! It was an unexpected surprise!

Lee Ann Womack came back out on stage to sing the hit “Does He Love You” with Reba. That was one of my favorite moments of the evening by far. What an amazing song!

Reba closed her set with one of the biggest hits of her career, “Fancy,” and she went out with a bang! After leaving the stage, she came back in a Taxi…(yes a taxi cab!), sporting a red dress to sing the song everyone had been dying to hear all night.

Next up was the The King of county music…George Strait! I am ashamed to admit that this was my very first time seeing him live. I felt like my life really wasn’t complete until I saw him in concert. What a show! The thing about Strait is he doesn’t need fancy lights or videos behind him to make the show entertaining. He doesn’t run around from one side of the stage to the other to keep the energy up. It’s just him, his guitar, and his band and it’s fabulous! He sang hit after hit after hit and everyone in the audience danced and sang along. I don’t really have much more to say about King George except that he’s amazing!

If you get the chance to see this tour, don’t miss it. If you enjoy true country music, this show is for you!

Big Machine Records Signs Melissa Peterman

Big Machine Records is proud to announce the addition of actress Melissa Peterman to its label family. Peterman, a star of film and television, will release her debut comedy album on Big Machine Records this Spring.

“I have always wanted to be a recording artist mostly because I really want a tour bus.. I hear those things are a party on wheels” says Peterman. “The truth is I love what I do and to get a chance to share my stand-up with fans who haven’t had the opportunity to see me live is very cool. And the great part of having your own comedy CD is I am already done Christmas shopping. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the BMR team and am so excited about releasing my first comedy cd on a label with such a great track record.”

“I’m a huge fan of Melissa’s and I’m thrilled that she’s going to join us,” says Scott Borchetta, President & CEO of Big Machine Records. “From “Fargo’s” ‘Hooker #2’ to Reba’s ‘Barbra Jean’ to the host of CMT’s #1 show ‘Singing Bee’, she’s been cracking up America for years. Now it’s time to record it!”

Worldwide audiences starting loving Melissa Peterman the moment she began portraying the ditzy home wrecker Barbra Jean on Reba.

The host of CMT’s #1-rated series of 2009, “The Singing Bee,” has also appeared in television shows including “Surviving Suburbia,” “Rita Rocks,” “Just Shoot Me,” “Living With Abandon,” and has hosted CMT’s “Comedy Stage” as well as the Hollywood Bowl’s Sound of Music Sing-A-Long. She appeared in the hit Coen brothers film, Fargo, as Hooker #2, the Method Man film, How High, and most recently starred in the independent comedy Dirty Politics.

Peterman is currently performing at arenas across America on tour with George Strait, Reba and Lee Ann Womack.
