Miranda Lambert’s Bringing The Boys On The Road

March 12th, 2010

Miranda Lambert announced yesterday who she’ll bring on the road for supporting acts on her upcoming “Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars” headlining tour.  If you were thinking that Miranda would bring some other country ladies out on the road, you couldn’t be more wrong!  Miranda is instead bringing out some of the hottest male talent there is!

James Otto, David Nail, Randy Houser, Luke Bryan, Jake Owen, Eric Church, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Wade Bowen, and Chris Young will each join Miranda on select dates of the tour.

“I can’t wait to get out on the road with Miranda,” says an enthusiastic Jake Owen. “She and her band know how to rock and our show is a perfect fit with that. Her fans are always ready to have a good time and we’re ready to show them a party.”

“Miranda and I both have a lot of respect for each other musically,” says Eric Church. “I consider her a badass and she considers me one. Put us both together and it should be unsafe at best. Everybody better rest up for this one cause we’re gonna blow it up.”

Stars React To ACM Nominations

March 4th, 2010

The nominees for the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were announced on Tuesday. Here’s what a few of the stars had to say about their nominations…

“I was already thrilled to be hosting the ACM’s again, but now to be nominated with all of these great girls in the female vocalist category, I am tickled to pieces,” said Reba.  “It’s been such an amazing year. Thanks to Country Radio and to the fans for all your love and support. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Country music fans are THE best fans in the world.” ~ Reba McEntire

“You always hear about the power of a great song, and there’s no doubt that ‘Need You Now’ has definitely been a career-changer for us, but seven nominations? We are blown away.” ~Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood

“It’s always a great surprise and thrill to get any kind of nomination. It’s unbelievable, and I can’t thank the country music industry and ACM voters enough for believing in what I do.” ~Miranda Lambert

“My management called and told me to turn on the TV to The Early Show, and I couldn’t believe they read my name. I feel so blessed to have been embraced and considered a contender in this format. I’m in the same category as George Strait, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and Kenny Chesney. Wow.” ~Darius Rucker

“We play a lot of shows and every time we go on stage our goal is the same: We want our performance to blow people away,” Brown said. “We live to perform and being recognized as a nominee for entertainer of the year in a category where the fans decide is a huge honor.” ~Zac Brown Band’s Zac Brown

“Thank you guys for the love love love and support you always give without failing. Of course, thank the good Lord above for the blessings and every radioman and radiolady who plays my songs. There’s my acceptance speech for the nominations. And of course a big big huge congratulations to the other nominees. It’s been an amazing year in country music, and I am so happy to be a part of it.” ~Carrie Underwood

“American Saturday Night” Tour – Fan Review

February 15th, 2010

We’ve been hearing from many fans who’ve attended Brad Paisley’s “American Saturday Night” tour and they’re all telling us the same thing – that the show is fabulous!  Cortney attended the tour stop in Birmingham, AL and sent in a review and some great pictures from the show…

WOW… February 5, 2010-Birmingham, AL….MY FIRST BRAD PAISLEY SHOW!! I had won 4th row tickets, and was soo excited!! I wasn’t really going in with high expectations, although still excited. I am a Brad fan, but he wasn’t really too near the top of my list. Boy was I in for a surprise!

One of my high school classmates works for Brad as one of his onstage camera men. I had been in contact with him via facebook before the show, and I was lucky enough to be sitting close enough for him to watch for us. He said he’d come out and say hello if we were there early enough. My friend Jami and I had just sat back down from getting something to drink, and I see Cole come out from backstage…..he waved and headed out way.  Once he got to us he asked if we’d like a backstage tour before the show started….ummm DUH!!! LOL The show was due to start in about 15 minutes, so we didn’t have a lot of time..and didn’t get to meet anyone other then people that work for Brad. However, to be able to see all the backstage stuff, Video World, be ON the stage seeing all the stuff for Brad’s set….it was all SO COOL!!! Brad’s bus was back there, and I’m sure he was probably on it…dummy me didn’t take ANY pictures until right before we were headed back to our seats. I hadn’t seen Cole since graduation, 9 years ago…and it was so super nice of him to take us backstage!

Justin Moore was the first act to take the stage. I don’t really know much of his music, other then the singles that have been released to radio, but I really enjoyed him.  He puts on a great show, heworked all areas of the stage, and seemed like a pretty cool guy!

Miranda Lambert was due up next and she is always a firecracker!! It was my 2nd time seeing her, and once again she was awesome!! I love her energy!! She told the crowd that she was a Texas girl, and said we’d just have to get over it…HOOK EM HORNS!! (Alabama beat Texas in the national championship for college football) She did eventually give out a ROLL TIDE and said she’d like to have a drink with everyone in Alabama! I LOVED hearing her do “White Liar” live. She has so much fun on stage and you can tell she’s a down to earth gal.

Brad….WOW!!!!!!!!! From the time he stepped foot on the stage until the lights came up and it was time to leave…..I was LOVING IT!!!!!!! Seriously one of the BEST concerts I’ve EVER been to!! His energy, his crowd interaction, the visual effects/animations….everything was GREAT!  I was glad that he sang all his biggest hits, and that he joked with the crowd a lot. At one point he said ”I love Alabama, I love your music, I love your people, I love your FOOTBALL! Naturally the crowd went wild with that! Dierks Bentley makes a cameo on the screen (along with a few other celebs) but Dierks actually SINGS (via the big screen!) It was really neat to see Brad just turn around and watch him. :)

I also thought it was really cool that they filmed local kids for the part during Welcome To The Future!! My friend Jami and I were on the “big screen” a few times, thanks to Cole….I wish I had gotten a picture of that…but I was snapping my camera so much there was no way to watch for everything. I could probably say so much more, but overall it was a GREAT night and I am now a bigger Brad Paisley fan then I was before, and would LOVE to see him again!

Thanks Cortney for the great review and pictures!  Has anyone else seen a 2010 stop of the “American Saturday Night” tour? What are your thoughts on the show?

Miranda Lambert Announces First Headlining Tour

February 10th, 2010

Miranda Lambert headlining tour

Miranda Lambert has toured with some of country’s music’s hottest acts including Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley and now, she’s going to embark on her very first headlining tour!

Lambert’s “Roadside Bars And Pink Guitars” Tour will kick off March 18th in Beckley, WV. The tour will make stops in at least 22 cities and more to be announced. She will be joined by David Nail, James Otto, Randy Houser and Wade Bowen among others.

In addition to her own headlining tour, Lambert will take part in the prestigious Lilith Fair Tour and joins an A-list lineup including Kings of Leon, Jay-Z, Dave Matthews Band and Norah Jones, performing at this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival in June.

“In the last 5 years, I have learned so much from all the amazing artists I’ve toured with,” said Lambert. “Now it’s my turn to venture out and do more shows of my own. I’m happy that there are a lot of great new artists who are willing to come out and support my tour.”

Fans, critics and peers agree it’s time for the award-winning Texas singer/songwriter to take center stage. Recent performances have garnered such praise as “one of modern country’s most formidable talents” from The Oklahoman and from the Dallas Morning News “She can command a stage as good as any of the genre big boys.”

Last week, Lambert, taped an episode of ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition, which airs this spring and was a presenter at the Grammy Awards, where she was also nominated for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her self-penned song “Dead Flowers.” While in Los Angeles as part of Brad Paisley’s “American Saturday Night” Tour, she will tape two upcoming shows for the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson (air dates TBA.)

Country Stars Weigh In On Carrie’s Engagement

February 2nd, 2010

Carrie Underwood - CountryMusicIsLove

While at the Grammy Awards Sunday night, People magazine caught up with Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert and asked about their thoughts on Carrie Underwood’s recent engagement.  Naturally, both stars couldn’t be happier for the country superstar.  Dierks said “They are really cute together.  They seem pretty devoted to each other, and they come from a good background, so I think that’s the key to a good marriage,” while Miranda weighed in with her thoughts, saying “Carrie is very down to earth and stable. She’s a great girl.  She really is.  I’m happy for her.”

In the midst of planning for her upcoming tour, Underwood has been able to make progress on the wedding planning.  She tells People “We have some of the big decisions made.  I don’t care about details.  I just want to show up and have a good time!… Right now I’m at the beginning of the race.  I can’t see the end right now, but it’s really exciting.  There’s a lot going on.”

Carrie has yet to announce a date for her wedding.
