Blake Shelton’s ‘Healing in the Heartland’ Benefit Concert Raises $6 Million for Tornado Relief

Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert - Season 2013

Blake Shelton‘s “Healing in the Heartland” benefit concert, which took place on Wednesday (5/29), raised more than $6 million for the United Way of Central Oklahoma. A spokesperson for the organization reported the updated figures to the Associated Press late last week. Funds raised are going directly to the United Way of Central Oklahoma who will then distribute the money to agencies helping with tornado relief efforts.

Shelton organized the concert after a deadly tornado ripped through Moore, Okla. on May 20. Shelton grew up in  Ada, Okla., which is about 75 miles south of Moore. Blake and his wife, Miranda Lambert, live about 100 miles from Moore in the town of Tishomingo.

“Healing in the Heartland” featured performances by a handful of Country superstars including Lambert, Luke BryanReba, and Vince Gill. Click HERE to view photos from the concert.
