Carrie Underwood Shares Skin Care Tips, Joins Olay’s ‘Beauty By Example’ Campaign

By:

Carrie Underwood is no stranger to being under harsh lighting conditions and needing to look good. Her secret? Olay.

Now that she’s spokesperson for the company, Carrie’s speaking out on her skin care habit. “It doesn’t have to be complicated,” she tells People.

“I don’t have time for complicated. I don’t have space in my luggage for 20 things that do different things for my skin — I don’t know anyone who does,” she adds. Carrie does make extra room for her love of makeup, however. “I will go into a makeup store and walk out and not even know what happened, carrying this giant bag of stuff. But I can, because I’m on stage — I can wear things that I can’t otherwise. So I have a little bit of everything in my kit.”

The easiest way to beautiful skin is a consistent, easy routine, Carrie says. “Drink more water, put more sunscreen on, moisturize. There are a lot of people like me who wish they did more. If I could go back and talk to my 15-year-old self I’d be like, ‘Seriously, listen to your mom.’”

As of now, Carrie’s plans include Olay’s feel-good “Beauty by Example” campaign, where women can go to Olay’s Facebook page to let the world know their mothers are beautiful. For every post, Olay will donate an ounce of product (up to one million ounces) to a national organization that bolsters the self-esteem of women undergoing cancer treatments.

Carrie is excited about this campaign because of one of her biggest influences. “My mom is a great example to me and my sisters, she’s just the best. She’d always tell me ‘You’re beautiful, you’re funny, and you sing well.’ She was always a positive person in my life, which is important,” she adds.

Carrie’s newest album, Blown Away, hits stores May 1. Be sure to check out www.facebook.com/olay to help bring women in need the help they deserve.
