Carrie Underwood Sports $31 Million Diamond Necklace and Custom Couture Gown at GRAMMY Awards

Carrie Underwood sported some very serious bling Sunday night at the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards. In addition to rocking a gorgeous Roberto Cavalli dress on the red carpet, Underwood also caught fans’ attention with the diamonds draped around her neck.

Designed by Johnathon Arndt, Underwood’s necklace featured 381 carats of oval, pear, marquis and round brilliant white diamonds, which is worth an estimated $31 million. Carrie even joked, ”It’s worth more than me” when Ryan Seacrest inquired about the jewels.

Underwood also had everyone talking with her performance dress. Although she looked a bit stiff during “Blown Away,” Underwood’s dress took on a new life when she transitioned to her latest single, “Two Black Cadillacs.” It made for a memorable performance.

“There are so many big performances at the Grammys and sometimes I like to just stand still and perform,” Underwood said backstage. “So (the dress) was the best way to do it, to create a cool environment.”

The Theia couture platinum ball gown was created by four people in 80 hours, featuring 10 yards of satin along with 100 yards of tulle and crinoline for the skirt. The 4 1/2-foot-wide skirt was designed to hide the projection technology without changing the fashion of the dress.

As always, we think Underwood was one of the evening’s best-dressed stars. Do you agree?
