Chris Brown Reveals He ‘Might Want To Do A Country Album’
Chris Brown Reveals He ‘Might Want To Do A Country Album’ – that’s a headline we never thought we’d see.
R&B singer Chris Brown, who is gearing up for the summer release of his new album X, revealed that he hopes to expand his musical horizon in the future.
“Music is for everyone,” he told Charlotte’s Power 98. “When you put genres on music, you segregate it. I want to always be able to do any kind of music I want. When I get older I might want to do a country album. Next year, I might want to do all hip-hop album or alternative album. Just making sure that anything that goes down, showing my audience or showing people that have a creative mind that you can do anything you want, it’s just about believing and loving what you’re doing in a positive way.”
Brown’s interest in Country music is a bit shocking considering his feud with superstar Miranda Lambert. If you remember, Lambert sounded off on Twitter after Brown performed on the 2012 GRAMMY Awards. “He beat on a girl…not cool that we act like that didn’t happen,” she Tweeted. “He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.” Lambert was referring to Brown’s now infamous domestic violence case (in 2009, he hit then-girlfriend Rihanna and left her with visible marks and bruises).
Although it seems Rihanna has forgiven Brown, Lambert has not. She stands behind her words.
“I didn’t feel right about not saying something. The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think,” she told Redbook earlier this year. “I wanted everyone to know that I don’t agree with the message it’s sending to young women. It’s not okay. At all. To be celebrated after doing something like that.”
“I don’t think it’s right, I never will, and I will stand by what I said till the day that I die,” Lambert continued.
If Brown follows through in making a Country album we can almost guarantee one thing – we won’t be hearing a Miranda Lambert/Chris Brown duet!
