Kelly Clarkson Gushes Over First Christmas Album, ‘Wrapped in Red’
Christmas is coming a bit early this year for Kelly Clarkson. The superstar is releasing her first holiday album, Wrapped in Red, next month.
Wrapped in Red will feature collaborations with country superstars Reba and Trisha Yearwood as well as Ronnie Dunn, who revealed that he has a hand in the project on his Facebook page earlier this summer.
The album is one that Clarkson admits as being a highlight of her career. “I gotta be honest with you, my Christmas album is like my favorite thing that I’ve ever done on the planet. It is so amazing,” says Clarkson, adding “I’m a nerd about Christmas music. Bing Crosby‘s Christmas CD, like ‘White Christmas’ album, is like, oh, my gosh, I love… and ‘White Christmas’ with Rosemary Clooney and Bing and all the other two, like, and Mariah‘s when I was a kid and loved Reba‘s. There’s so many Christmas CDs that I just am in love with, and so I was really excited about making it.”
Christmas classics to appear on Wrapped in Red include “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Blue Christmas,” “Run Run Rudolph” and “Please Come Home for Christmas.” The album will also feature original songs, including the title track and “Underneath the Tree.”
Fans can pick up a copy when becomes available on Oct. 29.
