Tim McGraw Develops New Line of Headphones
Tim McGraw has teamed up with Harman International Industries to create two styles of JBL headphones. The headphones, which will soon be available at many of the nation’s leading retailers, are available in on-ear and in-ear styles.
McGraw, who admits he’s a “neanderthal when it comes to electronics,” knows a thing or two about the way music should sound, so when it came to developing the headphones, he knew exactly what to do.
“The main thing was getting the sound the way I liked it, going through prototypes and saying, ‘I like the bass a little sharper here, I like the midrange a certain way,’” he says.
McGraw has already tested the products out on a reliable source – his family. While his three daughters, Gracie, 14, Maggie, 13, and Audrey, 10, like to wear the headphones around the house, you won’t catch them wearing their father’s product in public.
“It’s tough to get them to go outside of the house,” McGraw joked. “I’m probably the most uncool person they know in their eyes.”
McGraw’s wife, Faith Hill, on the other hand, “wears them all the time.” Tim says she was actually “a big part of their design,” t00.
The Tim McGraw on-ear headphones are available in black or white and have a suggested retail price of $129.95, while the in-ear headphones include a Tim McGraw-branded carrying pouch, are available in black or white, and have a suggested retail price of $49.95.
In addition to designing the headphones, McGraw has also joined Paul McCartney and Maroon 5 in JBL’s “Hear the truth” campaign. The campaign’s goal is to deliver quality products that reproduce music the way artists want it to be heard.
